2007 Manchester United announce new UK charity partnerships 30.07.07 The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is delighted to announce that they have been named as one of Manchester United's charity partners. Sarah Guthrie, Director of Fundraising at the CF Trust said '"We are thrilled to be working with Manchester United for the next three years to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and to raise money for vital tests of potentially life saving gene therapy. Manchester United's support will give a huge boost to the families living with Cystic Fibrosis across the UK."
Manchester United Press Release 2006 The Consortium's gene therapy programme has been publicised recently following the announcement that Gordon Brown's son, Fraser has Cystic Fibrosis. Consortium members have spoken to the press about the Consortium's gene therapy clinical trials.
Daily Mail article 2005 Research Contract with DoH The Department of Health has announced it has signed a contract with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and UK Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Consortium, to support further essential gene therapy research. Health Minister Lord Warner announced on January 4th, 2005 that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust is one of two organisations benefiting from £2.5m to find a gene therapy cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
